Penn State Forum Lecture Series Features SoVA Alum Beverly McIver

2010 Penn State Alumni Fellow Beverly McIver will speak as part of the Penn State Forum lecture series on Friday, April 19 at 11:30 in the President’s Hall of the Penn Stater (see http://pennstateforum.psu.edu/2013/04/beverly-mciver.html). Beverly is the Suntrust Endowed Chair and Professor of Art at North Carolina Central University. She received her M.F.A. from the Penn State School of Visual Arts. She has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for her art and her work is held in major collections and museums. An ongoing theme is Beverly’s narrative about her older sister, Renee, which has been the subject of a HBO documentary titled Raising Renee. A screening of Raising Renee, open to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, in the Palmer Lipcon Auditorium, Palmer Museum of Art.
