Faculty Collections: School of Visual Arts Alumni Works

Installation View

Faculty Collections: School of Visual Arts Alumni Works, currently on display in the Robeson Gallery through December 1, 2013, showcases the artwork of Penn State School of Visual Arts alumni from faculty collections.  A public reception is scheduled on October 24 from 5–7pm.

This exhibition features many pieces created in a wide range of mediums, including ceramics, drawing, oil painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, video performance, and more.

Professor Emerita Micaela Amateau Amato, curator of the show, states: “Many of us faculty have acquired paintings, sculptures, ceramics, prints, and photographs from our students over the years that we believed were brilliant, breathtaking, and absolutely had to have. Over the years these works have been a tremendous source of pleasure for us, and have offered us great insight into how students have developed their professional work.” Micaela has curated two other shows in celebration of the College of Arts and Architecture’s 50th Anniversary: Uncanny Congruencies, on display at the Palmer Museum of Art from September 10 until December 15, 2013, and Gesturing Into Consciousness, a juried show that was held in the Edwin W. Zoller Gallery in April 2013.
