Edwin W. Zoller Gallery Hosts 2nd Year MFA Exhibition and Public Reception

The Penn State School of Visual Arts (SoVA) announces the first of two 2nd Year MFA exhibitions. Bang! opens at the Edwin W. Zoller Gallery on September 16, featuring an array of student artworks, including installation, photography, ceramics, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. The exhibition will be on display through September 27. We invite you to attend the public reception (in the gallery) on Monday, September 16 at 5:00 PM (light refreshments will be served). Visit for a complete listing of Zoller Gallery events.

A variety of themes are explored in this first group of talented MFA students. Among them, Jennifer Kirkpatrick incorporates architecture and ornament; Negar Fadaei Dehkordi explores gender roles and surveillance in her native Iran; Kevin R. Mercer tells stories through his everyman character; and Roberto Lugo uses ceramics to interpret intersections between obesity, racism, and class division. Engage with our students’ innovative art that challenges and provokes dialogue within and across cultures and media.
