The dual degree Ph.D. in Art Education and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies is one of the few programs in the country to offer an interdisciplinary academic research degree in these two fields. Candidates for the dual-title degree conduct original research that make significant contributions to the field of art education, with particular attention to feminist perspectives and pedagogy. Coursework in art education, women's studies, and related disciplines provide a strong theoretical and methodological background for dissertation research.
