Anderson Lecture Series features an outstanding program of visiting artists. Beginning in September, the Fall schedule will include lectures by five exceptional artists, including Christina Roberts, Brent Green, Richard Ross, Julie Heffernan, and Stacey Levy. Julie Heffernan, a former faculty member of Penn State’s School of Visual Arts troubles the traditional notions of still life and portraiture by combining meticulously rendered elements such as lush vegetation, pristine wildlife, and fantastic human figures into surreal, layered tableaux. Heffernan will discuss her career, artistic process, and recent work in this lecture, Monday, September 24, 4:30 p.m. in the Palmer Museum of Art. This lecture is co-sponsored by the Palmer Museum of Art and the Penn State School of Visual Arts. Click here for the Fall 2012 John M. Anderson Endowed Lecture Series schedule.
