ART EDUCATION ALUMNI NEWS

Mary Stokrocki, Professor of Art at Arizona State University was elected as a NAEA Distinguished Fellow 2002. She won the 2002 USSEA Ziegfeld Award for distinguished national leadership. She is former president of USSEA, the United States Society for Education through Art. She was elected as Vice-President of INSEA, the International Society for Education through Art and is former a former World Councilor for 6 years.Publications: Content & context: Participant observation research in art education since 1990. Translations. Reston: VA: NAEA. Summer 2002. Co-authored with Dr. Mariusz Samoraj (2003), An Ethnographic Exploration of Children’s Drawings of their First Communion in Poland, International Journal of Education and the Arts. Co-Investigator of major NAEA Grant: “A Cross-Site Analysis of Strategies Used by Three Middle School Art Teachers to Impact Student Learning” with Enid Zimmerman, Indiana University to the NAEAF The National Art Education Association Foundation. With Marcia Buckpitt (2002), Computer animation at an Apache middle school: Apache children’s use of computer animation technology. In Y. Gaudelius., & P. Speirs (Eds.).
