MASTER'S DEGREES IN ART EDUCATION

The Master of Education Degree in Art Education
Candidates for the M.Ed. degree program in art education generally concentrate on the application of principles of education to instruction in art. The M.Ed. program provides for increased professional competency in art teaching through courses, seminars, studio work, and research.

The Master of Science Degree in Art Education
The M.S. degree program in art education is oriented toward research and culminates in a thesis. Students planning to pursue a doctoral degree in art education are strongly encouraged to apply for admission to the master of science degree program.

A Dual-Title Degree: The Master of Science Degree in Art Education and Women's Studies
The M.S. degree program in art education and women's studies is oriented toward interdisciplinary course work and research and culminates in a thesis. Students planning to pursue a doctoral degree in art education or women’s studies are strongly encouraged to apply for admission to the master of science degree program.
